My car is the SC/rambler that you see on carsinbarns.com. It's the 2nd Scrambler on the AMC page, the one in the snow. I am the 3rd owner of the car. It was originally purchased in Mora, Minnesota. The first owner had it for 3 years and sold it to the person I bought if from which was last February. I'm 27 years old and have been in the muscle car hobby since I was 15.

The 2nd owner obviously had the car for a very long time and it just barely survived. The story is that he bought the car because he was an AMC nut. He then proceeded to build the car into a 1/4 mile terror. It was consistently running 12.2's. in 1974 the previous owner bought NOS fenders, quarters, doors, deck lid, hood, front and tail panels and a grill with intentions or restoring it someday. Some premonition huh? I have the actual NOS paper work. however, the car was retired from daily driving in 81 and in 87 it saw it's last drag strip duty. Then the car was neglected. It was shot in the rear glass with a pellet gun, and the mirrors were also shot out. He tarped the car and throughout the late 80's and 90's water seeped through the tarp into the backseat and through the floor. The tarp acted like a green house and cooked the whole interior to crap. Rusting also occurred on the dash and all hinges. The floors are gone. The engine bay remained remarkably unscathed, except for the fact that water seeped through the intake and froze the block.

The owner had a stroke and has since been stricken to a nursing home. I bought the car with all intentions of returning this car back to completely stock. It will be a long haul but I would never want a clone car. I was planning to start work on it this fall.
